Flowering Gum and Lorikeet 2-day Workshops
in Coloured Pencil with Janet Matthews
for Somerset Arts Society Inc.
11th and 12th July 2026
10am to 3.30pm
These workshop are suitable for beginner and advanced artists and are designed to build confidence and familiarity with the colour pencil medium. ​

Learn to create different subjects and textures with Janet Matthews. She will teach you her colour pencil techniques then create a study of an animal, bird and flower. Janet teaches in a step-by-step demonstration with individual tuition as well.
Saturday 11th July FULLY BOOKED
Botanical – Flowering Gum – Silver Princess
We will learn a few basic colour pencil techniques, then apply them to a drawing of a Silver Princess flower and leaves.
Sunday 12th July FULLY BOOKED
Feathers – Rainbow lorikeet
We will do a few studies of the two different feather structures, then draw a Rainbow Lorikeet, which also has a wide range of colour combinations as well as feather structure.
